Pomerleau undertook Phase 2 and 3 of the Laviolette Bridge rehabilitation. Phase 2 was executed in two steps: first on the two southbound lanes, then on the 625-m approach on the northbound side. Work involved: modifications and reinforcement of the steel bridge structure and painting; demolishing the sidewalks, passageways and other existing elements; replacing the concrete deck (200 deck slabs) and the bridge spans (in 36 hours); reconstruction of exterior crash barriers and expansion joints; repairing the piles and other related works.

Following the work of Phase 2, Pomerleau was mandated for completion of Phase 3 in the South approach which spanned over 675 m. Work in Phase 3 included replacing the deck slabs for 325 m, and other related work; demolition of a 30-m span of two lanes wide pre-stressed concrete beams with integral slabs and replacement with a structure mixed steel-concrete apron in a 10-hour cycle over a weekend; constructing of new deck sections of 30 m, built on the ground on workbenches including the slab.
